How to Style Your Sofa with Throws, Pillows and Rugs

A deep, cloud-like sofa is a statement on its own. The right accessories make it look finished.
Pillows: odd numbers, mixed sizes
Group pillows in threes or fives. Mix a large square, a medium square and a lumbar pillow, and stick to two or three colours.
Throws: texture over pattern
A chunky knit or linen throw adds warmth without competing with the sofa's soft shape. Drape it loosely over one corner.
Rugs: go bigger
Choose a rug large enough for at least the front edge of the sofa to sit on it. It anchors the seating area and makes the room feel intentional.
Match your colour
- Beige: terracotta, olive and cream
- White: sand, warm wood and black accents
- Gray: navy, blush and brushed metal
- Black: camel, rust and crisp white
