How to Measure Your Space Before Buying a Sofa

The good news about a modular sofa: the math is simple. Every Nimbus Cloud piece is 39" W x 39" L (99 cm x 99 cm), so planning your layout is a matter of counting squares.

Step 1: Measure the wall or area

Measure the length of the wall or zone where the sofa will sit, then divide by 39" to see how many pieces fit across.

Step 2: Leave room to move

Aim for roughly 18" between your sofa and a coffee table, and about 30" for walkways. A sofa that fits on paper but blocks a doorway won't feel right.

Step 3: Tape it out

Use painter's tape on the floor to mark each 39" square. Walk around it for a day. It's the easiest way to see how the layout feels before you buy.

Step 4: Check your entry

Because each piece arrives in its own package, getting a Nimbus Cloud through narrow halls and stairwells is much easier than with a traditional sofa. Still, measure doorways just in case.
